The entire process of living in Zimbabwe is something of a gamble at the moment, so you may envision that there might be little appetite for going to Zimbabwe's gambling dens. In fact, it seems to be operating the other way around, with the desperate market circumstances creating a bigger desire to bet, to try and find a fast win, a way from the situation.

For most of the people surviving on the tiny nearby money, there are two dominant styles of betting, the national lotto and Zimbet. As with most everywhere else on the planet, there is a national lottery where the odds of profiting are surprisingly tiny, but then the jackpots are also remarkably large. It's been said by market analysts who understand the subject that many don't buy a card with an actual expectation of winning. Zimbet is centered on one of the national or the United Kingston soccer leagues and involves predicting the results of future matches.

Zimbabwe's gambling dens, on the other shoe, cater to the considerably rich of the state and tourists. Until recently, there was a very large sightseeing industry, founded on safaris and trips to Victoria Falls. The economic anxiety and connected bloodshed have cut into this market.

Among Zimbabwe's gambling halls, there are two in the capital, Harare, the Carribea Bay Resort and Casino, which has 5 gaming tables and one armed bandits, and the Plumtree Casino, which has only slot machines. The Zambesi Valley Hotel and Entertainment Center in Kariba also has just slot machines. Mutare contains the Monclair Hotel and Casino and the Leopard Rock Hotel and Casino, the two of which contain table games, slots and electronic poker machines, and Victoria Falls houses the Elephant Hills Hotel and Casino and the Makasa Sun Hotel and Casino, each of which has gaming machines and tables.

In addition to Zimbabwe's gambling dens and the aforementioned mentioned lottery and Zimbet (which is considerably like a pools system), there are also 2 horse racing complexes in the state: the Matabeleland Turf Club in Bulawayo (the second municipality) and the Borrowdale Park in Harare.

Since the market has shrunk by beyond forty percent in recent years and with the associated poverty and bloodshed that has cropped up, it isn't understood how healthy the vacationing industry which supports Zimbabwe's casinos will do in the next few years. How many of the casinos will survive until things improve is merely not known.
